I started building websites in the late 90s and went pro in 2000. Back then every project was a different problem: a local restaurant needed a site, a startup needed a custom app, a photographer needed a portfolio that actually looked like their work. You wrote the HTML, built the layout from scratch, FTP'd it live, and the next project was completely different. I learned to think fast across industries and figure out what a site needed to do before I touched a line of code. That's still how I work. That's a big part of why I'm here, doing this, now.

For the past decade-plus I've been deep in Shopify and e-commerce, not just building for clients but running the whole stack inside my own multi-location retail business. Custom apps, GraphQL integrations, AI fraud detection, AI product description pipelines, NetSuite sync, Klaviyo flows, POS extensions. I built all of it because I needed it to work. That's the lens I bring to every client engagement.

Custom sites are where I started, and they're where I still want to be. I built the site for BKB Photography from the ground up — design, code, the whole thing. I built a custom property site for O.D.'s Chula Vista Ranch. These aren't side projects; they're the work I care most about doing well. The advantage I bring is that I think about a custom site the same way I think about a production system: performance, maintainability, what happens when the client's business grows. Most custom site work doesn't get that. Mine does.

I'm not building an agency. I take on a small number of projects at a time, I'm deeply involved in every one, and I only work on problems worth solving. If that sounds like what you need, let's talk.
